Linda Evangelista: “I don’t recognize myself as a person”.

A few months ago, supermodel Linda Evangelista made public the dramatic consequences of her failed beauty treatment on Instagram. Now the 56-year-old gave the first interview about her personal hell and showed pictures of her body.

CoolSculpting is the name of the treatment Linda Evangelista underwent – a non-invasive method of fat reduction that is considered a gentle solution to problem areas. In this procedure, fat deposits that patients find stüting are treated with strong cold to achieve the death of the fat cells. A treatment that for the supermodel was to be the beginning of a long ordeal.

"I can no longer live like this"

"I loved it on the catwalk. Now I am afraid to meet someone I know", said Evangelista in an interview with the U.S. magazine People1. "I can’t live like this anymore, in hiding and shame. I just couldn’t live with this pain any longer. I am ready to finally speak up…" And come out. For her interview, she shows photos of her current body, which has bumps on her legs and back. The consequences of the fat reduction treatment.

Instead of a reduction, the opposite occurred in her case: Her fat cells multiplied and her body was permanently deformed, which in turn resulted in two surgical procedures. These had remained without success.

Rare side effect of the procedure on Linda Evangelista.

She says the procedure caused her to develop what is known as "Paradoxial Adipose Hyperblasia"2 an effect that is called a rare complication of CoolSculpting. The consequences of the procedure had plunged the mother of a son into deep depression, extremely limited her quality of life, and were also the reason why she had stopped working at her job in recent years. The model filed suit against the company for $50 million in damages.

"I don’t recognize myself physically, but I also don’t recognize myself as a person anymore", she continues to tell People. Linda Evangelista, the supermodel, "is somehow gone." Yet Linda Evangelista can be sure of the support of her fans: Shortly after publication, countless encouraging comments were posted, including loving contributions from colleagues such as Naomi Campbell, Tatjana Patitz and Christy Turlington.

A Tikbow inquiry to CoolSculpting manufacturer Allergan Aesthetics on the subject has so far gone unanswered.
