Isn’t something slipped here, J.Lo?

Jennifer Lopez surprised everyone at the American Music Awards in a wedding dress and veil – a look that hugely fueled the wedding rumor mill surrounding Hollywood dream couple J.Lo and Ben Affleck. But on closer inspection, the chic bridal outfit also revealed a bit of a fashion fail. Can you spot what went wrong here?

A veil trimmed with flowers, an opulent cream-colored dress, the words Marry Me in the background, the theme of singer Jennifer Lopez’s appearance at the AMAs in Los Angeles was clearly: wedding. The reason for this may have been her new film Marry Me, but some interpreted her romantic appearance as a clear signal to actor-boyfriend Ben Affleck. Despite the omnipräsenten wedding symbolism, however, a completely different detail caught our eye: at the top of J.Los luxuriösem "Dolce & Gabbana"-Bustier dress something seemed to be wrong…

Jennifer Lopez‘ Tüll dress "doesn’t look tailored"

In fact, it seemed as if under J.Lo’s designer dress the bra slipped. The semi-transparent fabric insert of the corset top revealed a second layer of fabric directly under the bustier, which looked as if it didn’t really belong there. This made it look like the entire bust part of the silk tutu dress was a tad too small – even though the dress was tailored to fit, according to "Dolce & Gabbana". A fact that did not go unnoticed by the Instagram followers of the Italian luxury label: "Does not look maßgeschneidert" and "Wunderschön! But it does not seem to fit her chest" read some of the comments under the post, which showed the singer in said Tüll dress.

In fact, the concept of the dress does not seem to include the double corset look. Thus, actress Emilia Clarke already wore in 2019 a very "Dolce & Gabbana"model – corset cut, waist band and Tüllrock included. The only differences with J.Lo’s look: Clarke wore the luxury dress in a red version – and on her, there was definitely no second layer of fabric peeking out from under the bustline.

Was J.Los dress just the back-up plan?

A fan on Instagram speculated that the Tüll dress was just the back-up plan for the singer, "probably something happened to the originally planned ensemble. Whether this was really the case, only Jennifer Lopez and her stylist team know, but one thing is certain: The singer skilfully laughed off the small styling faux pas and convinced everyone with her appearance – fashion fail or not.
