Aloe vera gel – simple recipe for DIY care product.

Aloe vera has always been used not only in medicine, but especially in cosmetics. Beauty products with Aloe Vera do not have to be bought expensively, however, with a few fast handles one can manufacture them from the power plant also completely simply. Tikbow explains how.

The best purchase for the little aloe vera treatment in between is your own aloe plant. They are available in various sizes in pots. Depending on demand, fresh aloe can be harvested – the basis for various beauty products such as aloe gel. If you don’t want to buy your own plant, you can simply buy aloe leaves from a health food store or on the Internet – the only important thing is to always make sure that the leaves are of organic quality, otherwise harmful pesticides can get into your skin.

Make your own aloe vera gel

All you need is a large, or optionally several small leaves of an aloe vera plant. Important: The leaf is cut from the plant relatively far down at the base.

  1. Place the aloe leaf in a glass jar with the cut surface facing downwards and leave it upright for about 90 minutes. This allows the yellow, poisonous juice to run out.
  2. Then cut the leaf into about 5 cm thick sheets.
  3. Then cut the leaf on the left and right sides. You get two sections that are open on all sides.
  4. Carefully run a sharp knife along the inside of the skin. The gel can then simply be scraped out with a lüffel.
  5. Mix the gel with a blender. Add tea tree or coconut oil as needed – done.
  6. Store the mixture in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume promptly.
