Maybe you have a bunch of hungry dogs. Or maybe you’re hosting a puppy party and want to invite all your friends’ dogs. Or maybe you just want a treat that will keep your big guy full for several days. Either way, this meat pie is just the thing for you and your big dog or many of his canine friends.

The pie contains a whopping 1 kg of meat, and at the recommended serving, that’s enough for either a crowd of small to medium sized dogs, or just your big dog.

  • 1 small zucchini, quartered
  • 1 celery stalk, quartered
  • 1 carrot, chopped
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • A little olive oil or butter
  • 1 kg lean minced meat (beef, chicken, pork or a combination)
  • 120 g rice flour
  • 1 large sweet potato, peeled and diced
  • 60 ml broth or milk
  • Dog treats for decoration

  • Preheat the oven to 175 degrees.
  • Place zucchini, celery, carrots and garlic in food processor. Pulse until they are finely chopped.

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef and flour and stir well.
  • Add the vegetable mixture and mix thoroughly.
  • Form the dough into a round or oval loaf on a baking sheet. Bake for 1 hour.
  • Meanwhile, place the sweet potato pieces in a pot with enough water to cover. Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat. Simmer until they are tender.
